Voice Talent Scholarship #2 Entry

 Can AI Replace Voice Talent?

Some people might believe that with the advent of technological leaps in the makings of artificial intelligence, AI would be able to stably replace voice talents. I disagree with this point of view, for good reasons.

AI might be able to mimic the superficial surface of emotions in speech but they are evidently defeated when it comes to certain depths human voices would have expressed with ease. Artificial intelligence would always remain what it is—an AI—no matter how human beings fine tune them. Years from now, human voicing might become a hot commodity as many industries are now using AI to voice their presentations, animations and more, causing it to become one of the indispensable part of their use of technology.
Voice Talents versus Artificial Intelligence

Putting that aside, if we depend on AI for voicing and many other uses, we are taking a risk of covering our human voice talents with a thick layer of dust. Many talents would remain hidden and the world will not be able to experience their impart, something this world truly need. It would make veteran voice talents—or even upcoming ones—lose the jobs they manage to get through hard work whenever companies decide AI is cheaper and faster with a very low chance of error, disregarding its inferiority compared to voice talents. Every voice is a talent, a unique existence artificial intelligence can't replace.

AI would be better in a supporting role. Making it highlight the uniqueness of human voice is one of of the advantages human themselves don't discover. Sure, artificial intelligence is easier but even with this merit, human beings should still pursue quality over quantity because a voice talent's quality is something an AI can not emulate no matter how sophisticated it is. AI can't replace voice talents because the special emotions humans carry are the best ways to pass a message.

RMSM - Chapter Five

Reborn Mistress’ Scumbag Manual (RMSM) - Chapter Five: Handle

Previous                    TOC

T/N: Sorry for the late update, I’m preparing for my exams. Whenever I hear people talk about university students being broke, I didn’t believe until I experienced it 😩😩

The first day of school was fairly uneventful.

In the evening, she went back to the dormitory.

Four people live in the dormitory, three beds are covered with quilts, and the remaining one is piled with a lot of things.

This is the reason Lu Nan returned to the classroom so quickly during the day.

The other three girls had already returned. Each sat on the bed, playing games, eating snacks and watching dramas, without any reaction to the people who came in.

Lu Nan leaned against the door with her arms crossed and said, "Whoever this things belong to, clean up by yourself."

No one in the dormitory took care of her.

Lu Nan was not in a hurry. She just leaned there and waited quietly.

Three minutes later, there was still no movement.

She raised her hand and pulled down the safety switch beside the door. The dormitory immediately was plunged into darkness.

"Ah! What are you doing! Lu Nan, you female dog! Are you sick!" A scream sounded in the dormitory, followed by a series of curses.

In the darkness, Lu Nan walked up to the cursing person accurately, grabbed her by the back collar and dragged her into the bathroom. She filled the sink with water and pressed the girl’s face down.

"Cough... loose woman...cough...dog...my sister...cough...will take care of you...cough...cough..."

Lu Nan let her face surface for a few minutes. She coughed so hard but she didn't forget to swear so before she finished, her face was pushed into the pool again.

Lu Nan said, “Your mouth is very dirty, wash it well. No need for thanks."

After the other two girls panicked for a while, they found something to put their feet in and finally pushed the switch up.

When the lights in the dormitory came on, they ran into the bathroom and saw Lu Nan casually pushing their colleague into the water, their legs weakened instantly. They are all flowers in the greenhouse. Have they ever seen such a picture except on TV?

"Lu Nan... Lu Nan... you should let go of her..." Zhang Yuqi persuaded with a crying voice.

Yu Nuan’s face was pulled out of the water by Lu Nan and she immediately scolded, "Lu Nan, you prostitute! Kekekeke...my sister won't let you go! Kekekeke...you are still strutting about. My sister has a handle on you...cough...cough..."

"What are you trying to say?" Lu Nan paused but did not push her directly into the water as she asked, "What are you talking about?" She really had no impression of the whatever it is Yu Nuan is gushing about.

"Hahahaha you want to know? Do you think I'll tell you?" Yu Nuan smiled proudly.

The three of them happened to be Lu Nan's classmates in the first year of high school. She knew Lu Nan's cowardly character best! Hearing that there is a something incriminating in her sister's hands, she must be afraid!

"Forget it." Lu Nan pressed her hand hard and Yu Nuan was pressed back into the water again. Before she could close her mouth properly, she immediately choked on a large mouthful of water.

No one would have thought that Lu Nan would play cards so out of the way.

Yu Nuan’s head stayed in the water and it took two minutes before Lu Nan dragged it up. Yu Nuan had already fainted from choking.

The other two were trembling in fear and when they saw Yu Nuan being thrown on the ground without her making any motion indicating she’s alive, they suddenly screamed, "Ah, ah, ah! Killed!"

"Not dead." Lu Nan frowned, a little upset by the screams.

She kicked Yu Nuan, who was lying on the ground with her foot before she said to the two people who covered their mouths in fear and dared not speak out, "Take her to the bed."

The two immediately rushed Yu Nuan to her bed and waited nervously for Lu Nan's next move.

Lu Nan didn't do anything. She picked up her suitcase and walked out the door.

"Lu—Lu Nan." Zhang Yuqi suddenly shouted.

Lu Nan turned his head: "Is something wrong?"

"Aren't you sleeping in the dormitory?"

"No." She thought for a while and asked again, "Do you know which dormitory Shao Xinyi is in?"

RMSM - Chapter Four

Reborn Mistress’ Scumbag Manual (RMSM) - Chapter Four: Yan Dog

Previous                      TOC                               Next

T/N: please comment, I love them. I don’t know how I could modify the title so I left it like that, if you have a better alternative, tell me. Novel Updates didn’t scan my chapters so I’m adding it manually now.

Zhou Zihan felt as if his eardrum had been gently scratched by something and the itchiness went straight to the bottom of his heart. He was stunned for a while and then he said, "Yes, there is something. Would you be my girlfriend?" He showed a warm and inviting smile, like a little puppy.

Lu Nan gave an enchanting smile that beat his own brutally, "No."

Zhou Zihan knew how much girls liked his face so when he heard the rejection, he didn't react.

Lu Nan stood up and walked two or three meters away before Zhou Zihan came back to his senses. He stopped her, "Where are you going?"

"The bathroom." Lu Nan put her hands in her trouser pockets and turned her head to look at Zhou Zihan, "Is there anything else?"

"Tell me your phone number. In addition, can you be my friend?"

Lu Nan swiveled around and walked out of the classroom. A lazy voice came as she walked farther away, "No."

"No?" Zhou Zihan frowned, returned to his seat and asked Zhou Zichen, "Did she refuse to tell me or did she not have a phone number?"

"I don't know." Zhou Zichen took out his earphones and put them in his ears to avoid interruptions.

Zhou Zihan thought for a while as a smile hung on the corners of his eyes and brows, "Interesting."

    ...

Lu Nan went out of the bathroom and met Shao Xinyi in the corridor.

The other side almost ran away when she saw her but she saw her eyes freeze abruptly, "Lu-Lu Nan. Are you looking for me? Is there something wrong?"

"Yeah." Lu Nan stretched out a slender hand glowing with the color of jade, "Lend me the phone."

"Okay, okay!" Shao Xinyi immediately took out her phone. She unlocked the screen and handed it to Lu Nan.

Lu Nan tapped a few times on Shao Xinyi’s mobile phone before she scrolled through what she wanted to know. She deleted the search record and returned it to Shao Xinyi while asking, "Did you spread the rumors about me in the school?"

"No, no!" Shao Xinyi hurriedly denied, "We didn't say those stuff in school, it was others. We don’t know how leaked or who spread it! We–we just didn't deny it. I will definitely deny it if I hear someone say it in the future. Absolutely!"

Lu Nan nodded and left without saying anything.

"Lu Nan!"

Lu Nan stopped, glanced sideways and motioned for Shao Xinyi to continue.

"Actually–Actually, you entered Class 8 because the dean told the director that your car accident has delayed your studies and you will definitely not be able to keep up with your peers when you go back to school. He said liberal arts are easier to learn. That's why, that's how—"

There are 16 classes in the second year of high school, 8 classes in liberal arts and 8 classes in science. Class 8 was the worst class in liberal arts and Lu Nan was good at science before.

Lu Nan showed her back to Shao Xinyi, "Got it." Her voice was neither salty nor light, it was not clear that she cared.

Shao Xinyi covered her face, ignoring the glances of passing classmates and slumped on the ground, "Huh—why are you so cowardly—"

When Lu Nan returned to the classroom, everyone saluted her. As soon as she sat back in her seat, a girl in the front row turned her head, "Your name is Lu Nan, right?"

Lu Nan nodded, flipping through the magazine without looking up.

"I heard that you had a car accident and took a long vacation. You shouldn't be able to keep up with your homework, right? You can find me if you need it. I'm a study committee member and should be able to help you. My name is Jiang Jing." The girl didn't feel excluded at all. Even when she is replied with concise words, a grin brightened her visage. Her face still containing a little baby fat looks cute.

"Okay, thank you." Lu Nan raised her head and smiled at the girl.

A bright face suddenly shortened the distance in front of her with a very provocative smile on her face. Jiang Jing's heart was thumping and beating fast. She blushed, stepped back a little distance as she said softly, "No thanks." She turned around and covered her face.

The little girl in her heart screamed.

Her smile is so pretty! How can it be so beautiful! This is simply a goddess! She is going to lose consciousness whenever the goddess smiles!

Lu Nan lowered her head before spreading her palms.

In Lu Nan’s palm, a bit of faintly dim golden light slowly fluttered. It was as if it could be extinguished in the next moment but it grew a little brighter, the light showing tenacity.

Lu Nan raised her head and glanced at Jiang Jing opposite her with a slight smile in her eyes.

It turned out to be belief.

RMSM - Chapter Three

Reborn Mistress’ Scumbag Manual (RMSM) - Chapter Three: The Key

Previous                              TOC                           Next

Zhou Zichen put down the book, glanced at Lu Nan for a moment before retracting his gaze as a smile appeared at the corner of his mouth. This girl, at first glance, is not a person to provoke. She has a natural suppressive temperament and she doesn't look like someone who grew up in an orphanage. He is waiting see how Zhou Zihan will suffer later.

After Lu Nan cleaned up the table, she saw Zhou Zichen across her desk with a thick book in his hand. The book was clearly not a textbook. Lu Nan stretched out her long legs to kick his chair.

Zhou Zichen tilted his head in surprise, not expecting this girl to take the initiative to provoke him.

Lu Nan said, "Do you still have this kind of book? Lend me it for study."

Zhou Zichen looked at the thick French classic in his hand and asked in confusion, "Do you want to read this book?"

"As long as it's not a textbook, anything is fine."

Zhou Zichen reached over and took out a magazine from Zhou Zihan's desk hole. He handed it to Lu Nan.

Lu Nan picked up the crumpled magazine in his hand and said, "Thanks.”

Zhou Zichen nodded and continued to look at his book.

Lu Nan flipped through the magazine in her hand. There was a lot of miscellaneous introductions, including things about luxury cars, celebrities and entrepreneurs. She flipped aimlessly for a while before stopping when she saw a page about the introduction of Imperial College.

The pages of the book introduced how Imperial University has a long history and has accumulated many antiques. Thus, the Imperial University Museum was specially established. A photo is attached to it. In the booth made with tempered glass, an unknown token covered with cyan patterns and some cracks lay in it.

Lu Nan's pupils tightened as she stared intently at the token with her eyes. Thin blood lines spread to the eyeballs from the corners of her eyes.

She closed her eyes and waited for the emotions in her heart to calm down slightly before opening them again and her gaze fell on the token.

It turned out to be the key to her Lu family.

Ever since she woke up in this place, her thought was that she had entered another world because in Lu Nan's body's memory, there is no Celestial Empire at all and there is no extremely prosperous Lu family in history. No matter how intense her search was, she could not find any trace of the Celestial Empire’s existence.

Unexpectedly, when she had already given up, the key of the Lu family was delivered to her!

She lowered her eyelids to cover up the surging emotions in her eyes. She rubbed the token picture with her fingertips and the corners of her mouth twitched, revealing an extremely bright and attractive smile.

This token belongs to her, so what if it becomes a cultural relic? It’s still hers. Except for the Lu family, this thing is a display in anyone's hands. Since the key is still here, the Lu family's old house is also preserved.

Imperial University? Looks like I have to figure out a way to visit it.

Zhou Zihan slept till the first class in the morning started. He looked up and saw an old history teacher standing on the podium. As he was dragging his chin to go back to sleep, he found a figure from the corner of his peripherals and when he turned back to see clearly, he was greeted with a gorgeous face.

He was stunned for a while but a grin broke out on his face before he turned Zhou Zichen with his chin on the elbow, "Hey, is she Lu Nan? Is this look okay?"

The girls in the front row buried their heads in the book when they heard his words.

Zhou Zichen looked at his grinning mouth and said calmly, "It’s her. I'll remind you one last time, don't make trouble."

"Don't worry," Zhou Zihan patted his shoulder, "I'm not a troublemaker, I’ll keep myself in check."

As soon as the dismissing class bell rang, there were more figures at Lu Nan's desk. A slender hand prettier than some girls in comparison rested on the desk. Zhou Zihan said with a bright smile, "Is your name Lu Nan?"

Lu Nan leaned on the back of the chair as she looked up lazily at Zhou Zihan. Her voice was a little hoarse for some reason, "Yes, is something the matter?"

RMSM - Chapter Two

Reborn Mistress’ Scumbag Manual (RMSM) - Chapter Two: Nursed

Previous                            TOC                               Next

Lu Nan found the head teacher in the office and did the necessary inquiry. She collected the textbook and figured out the number of the dormitory. After, she went there to put her things. The orphanage is close to the suburbs, not far from the urban school so all the children of the orphanage study and board at the school.

In the classrooms of Class 2 and 8 of senior high school, the time for early self-study is used for reading.

Amidst the sound of reading, the boy in the corner was lying on the desk with a textbook covering his sleeping face.

He was sharing the table with a fair and clean boy with glasses, whose clear eyebrows exuded a scholarly feeling. He caught a glimpse of the figure appearing at the front door of the classroom and kicked the boy who was sleeping roughly, "The head teacher is coming, don't sleep."

The boy who was kicked took off the book on his face, sat upright and his former sleepy eyes looked very clear, though the small red mark on his chin hinted at what happened. He was obviously a repeat offender because he showcased his honed skills by directly supporting his chin with his hand to block the red mark.

Chen Heng glanced into the classroom, but his gaze didn't catch the dozing person.

He clapped his hands and signaled the classroom to be quiet, "There is another classmate in our class who has not resumed because of a car accident, but now she has recovered and is back to school today. There will be no class for a while so she won't be allowed to introduce herself. The monitor will arrange a seat for her later."

After he finished speaking, he lifted his feet and left the classroom. Before leaving  through the door of the classroom, he turned back and warned, "Don't fall asleep during class! Do you hear me?"

"We hear you!" The whole class shouted in unison.

Chen Heng nodded and left with satisfaction.

Seeing the head teacher had just left, the boy who was dozing off in the corner became energetic, "Zichen! Do you think the new student is a boy or a girl?"

Zhou Zichen glanced at him, turned his eyes back to the book and spit out two words, "Boring."

Zhou Zihan pouted in disdain, "You are boring enough!"

These two are brothers but their personalities and hobbies are completely different. Zhou Zihan’s looks is also very good, different from Zhou Zichen's fair and gentle appearance, his wheat-colored skin gave off the impression of him being sunny and cheerful.

The girl in the front row heard their conversation and turned around and whispered, "It's a girl, her name is Lu Nan."

Zhou Zihan became interested and asked enthusiastically, "Really? How do you know?"

The girl looked contemptuous, "She is very famous in our school since she was admitted. You have just transferred schools this semester, so you don't know. She is from an orphanage. After leaving the school one day to meet unscrupulous men, she had a car accident."

Zhou Zihan smiled, full of curiosity, "So hot?! Is she beautiful? How did you know? Did you see it with your own eyes?"

The girl pouted, "She looks okay. I haven't seen it, but other people in the school saw her meeting some old men and the people she stays with at the orphanage have admitted it."

"Is that so?" Zhou Zihan touched his chin with a thoughtful expression, "Will the school not punish such a student? It attracts a demerit or something."

"Of course! But no one is going to report her. Sometimes I feel pity for her knowing she came out of an orphanage and her situation seems quite delicate but even so, I don't want to have any contact with her. I always turn a blind eye to her behavior." The girl said.

"Is that so?" Zhou Zihan smiled, tilted his head at the girl before saying, "Thank you!"

The girl blushed and replied, "No."

Her reply was in a low voice that reminds someone of a mosquito before she turned around in a hurry.

Zhou Zichen's eyes fell on the book, and he warned in a low voice, "It's better for you not to go and mess with anything."

"Hey, I think it's quite interesting." Zhou Zihan ignored the warning and said with a smile. Soon, he was lying on the table and his even breathing signalled him falling asleep.

It's just that Lu Nan's speed was faster than everyone expected.

A figure passed by the front door of the classroom and everyone immediately read aloud, thinking Chen Heng came back for a surprise inspection. So when a tall, beautiful girl came in, everyone was quiet, and nothing came to their minds.

Lu Nan's eyes fell on the empty seat in the last row. She walked to the last row under the eyes of everyone with a calm expression, threw her backpack on the table and sat down with an inexplicable domineering posture. Afterwards, she slowly tidied up the desk as she packed up the books.

RMSM - Chapter One

Reborn Mistress’ Scumbag Manual (RMSM) - Chapter One: Back

                                   TOC                                   Next

T/N: Pardon my grammar, I just started my translating career. I’m sorry for putting the link here, I had a problem with adding things at the end 😓.

At the door of Xinhai Orphanage, a tall girl got out of the gray van and slung her backpack across her shoulders. Inexpensive sneakers, white washed jeans worn as cropped trousers, a white t-shirt with a faint yellowing tainting it.

All of this is in line with the surrounding environment, but when it is put on the girl, there is a type of visual shock, like the old clothes were forcibly worn by her as an international brand.

The arms exposed outside are white as jade with a high nose and thin lips donning her face. The bright red lips complement the glossy complexion, which gave off beautiful and seductive vibes.

“Lu Nan! You must go to school tomorrow! Stop causing trouble for all of us! Do you know how much of a burden this medical expense is to everybody?! A girl who doesn't know how to keep herself in check! Everybody knows you are shameless but that’s your problem, just don't harm the reputation of the other children in the orphanage!" Zhao Yuqun got out of the car to scolded her without regard and then left angrily.

Lu Nan's eyes followed Zhao Yuqun's back. After a while, she looked back and gazed intently at the "Xinhai Orphanage" sign hanging on the door of the hospital before she licked her red lips.

"The orphanage reimburses 70% of the expenses. Is it too big?"

Naturally, no one gave her an answer.

She slipped a few strands of hair straying to her face through the playful wind behind her ears.

Lu Nan slowly walked around the playful children and walked towards the dormitory.

In the dormitory.

Shao Xinyi was playing with a white MP3 and said to the numerous people with her, "I didn't expect Lu Nan to hide this. It took us more than half a year to find out. It's really hidden."

Gong Yan pouted and stared at the MP3 in Shao Xinyi's hand with disgust, "Xinyi, you are not afraid of viruses. She has no money, where did she get this? Maybe it was picked from a garbage dump or she bought it from a suspicious and unreliable man."

"That's right! She looks like a cheap woman, she must have bought it from selling meat!" Zhang Ningshu raised her hand and blew off the nail polish that was slightly wet, with the inferior makeup highlighting her arrogant mouth and face.

“Knock." There was a knock on the door.

Yang Man stood up to open the door, but was stopped by Shao Xinyi, "Don't open the door. I heard from the dean that Lu Nan was discharged from the hospital today and it must be her outside."

Shao Xinyi said with a cold smile: "Let her sun away outside for a while so she can clear away the sickness and then come in, otherwise it will be troublesome if whatever she carries infect us."

“She was in a car accident, not sick. How could she be ill?" Yang Man subconsciously said.

“Manman, shut up. Just listen to Sister Xinyi." Wang Rou pulled the person back.

The next moment, a harsh sound echoed.

“Bang!" The door was kicked open.

Everyone in the room turned their heads to look at the door, and saw an attractive girl wearing a white T-shirt, old jeans, and a ponytail. She was still as beautiful as before.

Shao Xinyi rolled his eyes, threw the MP3 on the ground, and said strangely, "Who do you think it was! It turns out our great beauty Lu is back!"

Lu Nan did not react to the mockery. She glanced at the MP3 on the ground and said lightly, "Pick it up."

"Huh?" Shao Xinyi dug his ears and looked at Gong Yan in disbelief, "Lu Nan, did you knock your brains out in the car accident?"

She raised her foot and stepped on the MP3 without fear before she kicked it away. Shao Xinyi stopped when she passed by Lu Nan.

She tilted her head closer in an attempt at intimidation while saying in a low voice, "Lu Nan, you have lived in a hospital for half a year and your temper has grown. Not convinced? Are you going to report me to the dean?"

After she finished speaking, she didn’t try to apologize to Lu Nan but with an increasingly arrogant attitude, she pushed Lu Nan's shoulder away and sauntered out.

However, before Shao Xinyi’s second step could be completed, her clothes was grabbed by someone. A strong force came from behind, pulling her back a few steps and a cold hand grabbed her neck before lifting her from the ground.

“I don't say things twice." Lu Nan looked at Shao Xinyi expressionlessly and whispered close to her, "Also, I won't report you. Why discuss things that could be solved with hands?"

The suffocation caused by the hand holding her neck and being unable to breathe made Shao Xinyi feel the approach of death for the first time. Her mind was blank for a while and when she saw Lu Nan's cold eyes, she finally reacted and pleaded with tears streaming down her face.

"please...please...I...wrong...wrong...please..."

The other people in the room watching was stunned. Only Yang Man recovered the quickest and rushed forward to break Lu Nan's hand, "Lu Nan, let go. If you kill someone, you will go to jail. Let go!”

Lu Nan glanced at her and let go. Shao Xinyi slumped to the ground, clutching her neck and coughing violently.

Lu Nan didn't behave like the person who almost killed her, it was as if the person clutching her neck was a mirage. She was very calm.

She clapped away the nonexistent dust on her hands and looked at the people in the room. She warned them simply and directly, “If I can do it, I usually don’t speak so if you don't want to die and the percentage of you beating me is nil, don't provoke me."

Shao Xinyi shivered even more when she heard this sentence because no one knew better than her the authenticity of what Lu Nan said.

Several other people nodded hurriedly and ran out in a rush. When passing by Shao Xinyi, they picked her up and ran with her.

The others dashed away and Lu Nan slowly sorted out her things. She lay in the hospital for half a year after a car accident. Shao Xinyi and a few people took almost all of her things but no one wanted the clothes. After all, their clothes were much better than hers and some of the goods from the stalls are old so naturally people with brains wouldn’t want to take hers.

After looking around for a while, She found a few textbooks. Lu Nan roughly turned it over and then threw it aside after looking over it all. She also delayed her studies at school for half a year. She was a first-year high school student when she entered the hospital and now she is a second-year high school student. She didn’t even know where the high school textbooks are.

It seems that she have to find one of the girls at night to ask for books and notes.

"Yeah, how did did things get so miserable?" She threw the faded and tattered clothes into the suitcase with a bit of disgust.

She is Lu Nan but at the same time, she is not.

To be precise, this body belongs to Lu Nan but the soul inside is Lu Nan, the phoenix of the Celestial Empire.

She was drinking alone in the room and unexpectedly drank herself to death. It happened to be that the modern Lu Nan was killed in a car accident so she came over and integrated with the flesh left behind.

The names are similar and the looks are no different but the status, identity and personality are like separate parallels!

As the phoenix of the Celestial Empire, she is serving under one person while having more than ten thousand people at her beck and call. The modern Lu Nan’s situation was different, she was abandoned by her parents and bullied by her friends.

She is full of self love and confidence but Lu Nan has been timid since she was a child. People in her age range bully her because of this.

They were so unbridled.

Moments ago, did they not try to bully her as they always do? They should continue that line of thought if their skin are itching for a beating or when death is beckoning them.

Soon night fell.

Shao Xinyi and several others were playing tug of war with the door of the dormitory but no one dared to enter. If it wasn’t a necessity to go back, they wouldn’t show their faces at all.

Yang Man whispered, "As long as we don't mess with her, she probably won't bother us again." She was a little unsure about what she said. Although she rushed up to persuade Lu Nan earlier, thinking about it now, the situation doesn't make any sense.

Remembering it brings chills. Moreover, she knew very well how they tricked and abused Lu Nan before.

“Then unlock the door and go in!" Shao Xinyi glared at her. She didn't know who pushed her as she spoke. The door sprang open with a touch and she took a few steps forward due to the inertia before she caught herself from falling.

There are six people in the dormitory and each of them have to choose a bed from the bunk beds provided. Lu Nan was sitting on the top bunk, leaning on the head of the bed as her long legs dangled in the air, the white MP3 she was playing with almost matched her fingers. The white earpiece was tangled randomly, winding and hiding inside in the loose black hair.

The five girls entered the dormitory by mistake and a terrible silence hung in the air for a moment. Nobody spoke and there was no sound except for the faint singing from the inferior earphones and the squeaky sound of the bed being shaken.

Lu Nan raised her eyes to stare at them, she then looked back and continued to gaze at the MP3 without giving any response.

Shao Xinyi let out a breath of relief and carefully returned to the bed, doing things lightly and the others did not dare to breath loudly.

"Who is the best student?" Lu Nan abrupt voice broke the stalemate.

Shao Xinyi was so frightened by Lu Nan's sudden voice that she fell and it took a long time for someone to answer.

Yang Man raised her hand carefully, "I–I'm the number one in our class."

"Yeah." Lu Nan nodded, tore off her earphones before turning her head to Yang Man, "Show me your notes and books."

“Okay, okay." Yang Man hurriedly took out the notes from her schoolbag and handed it to Lu Nan.

"Thank you." Lu Nan raised the corners of her beautiful lips as she said her thanks.

“No, no!" Yang Man immediately waved her hand like a frightened rabbit.

Lu Nan glanced back and looked away, it was estimated that they would be like this for a while. On the contrary, Yang Man is very interesting. She wasn’t scared earlier but now she is shivering in fear.

She read through the books and the pages were flipped over with a soft sound. It was as if Lu Nan was playing with the books. The notebook followed the same process. Her reading was quickly completed and everything is solved in less than five minutes.

"Take it back." Lu Nan handed the notebook back to Yang Man.

The others were a little slow to react, not understanding the meaning of Lu Nan's actions.

Even if there is confusion nobody dared to ask and they all went to bed earlier than usual after hurriedly washing up.

    ...

The next day, Lu Nan woke up very early, picked up her suitcase and went to school according to his memory.

When she had a car accident in her first year of high school, she hadn't changed classes yet but in her second year of high school, she would have be re-classified according to the subjects. Now she doesn't know whether she is studying in arts or sciences.

Putting the suitcase beside the flower bed, Lu Nan entered the principal's office. The principal is a middle-aged man in his forties, with a thin body and a pair of black-rimmed glasses. He looks smart, strong and amiable.

"Principal, my name is Lu Nan. I took a break from school for half a year due to a car accident. Could you please tell me which class I am currently in?" Lu Nan asked with a smile.

This person is not a very nice guy either.

“I have an impression of you. You should be in either the second and eighth class of the school." The principal smiled kindly at her then flipped through the student files.

"Yes, you are in Teacher Chen's class. You just came in today and I don't know a how your classes are conducted. Go ask your head teacher." He said to her when he got what he was searching for.

"Thank you, principal." Lu Nan nodded and turned to leave.

As soon as she left, a phone call came in. The principal connected and smiled first, "Why did you have the time to contact me at a wrong time and place today?"

The person at other end of the phone should have said something aligning with the Principal’s interests because the smile on his face became lighter, "Understood, thank you for your suggestion. Why did they come to H city?"

Nobody knew what was said on the other end before the principal replied.
